EIFF is here! It’s the culmination of 8 months’ work for Edinburgh Young Programmers.
Young Programmers from Edinburgh attended the opening night red carpet screening of Boyz in the Wood and then welcomed the young local director, Ninian Doff to their EIFF Youth HQ the following day for an intimate and inspirational In person event. They’ve held other in person events with talented costume designer, Nina Ayres and a very special Q&A with Bella Ramsey, the young break out star from Game of Thrones. The Young Programmers hosted their curated short film programme : Exploring Boundaries – which was a well attended screening. They were delighted to be joined by some of the visiting film makers for an audience Q&A after the event.
At EIFF Youth HQ, a series of workshops and masterclasses are well under way. The EIFF Youth programme has been co designed with the young programmers and includes: VR film making, workshops on podcasting, mobile journalism, lighting, screen writing, screen acting and even screen combat. There are films being made by young people during the Festival – and these will all be screened at the closing party on Saturday 29 June. Watch this space for more updates…
