Young Spectators at the Vilnius Documentary Film Festival

Vilnius Documentary Film Festival welcomed Moving Cinema young spectators to discover new topics and forms of documentary cinema.
The students from Vilnius Jonas Paulius II gymnasium watched The Baltic Road by Audrius Stonys and Arūnas Matelis (Lithuania, 1989) and Year of the Dragon by Andres Sööt (Estonia, 1989). Young people from Vilnius Biržiška gymnasium enjoyed the screening of America by Erick Stoll, Chase Whiteside (USA, 2018). George: The Story of George Maciunas and Fluxus by Jeffrey Perkins (U.S., Lithuania, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Denmark, Italy, France, Netherlands, 2019) inspired the students from Vilnius Valdorf gymnasium. All the screenings were carried out together with general public of the Festival. Afterwards, the students discussed with a film educator about the relationship between young and elderly people, getting old (film America), the personality of George Maciunas (The Story of George Maciunas and Fluxus), the regain of the independence in the Baltic countries (Baltic Road, Year of the Dragon) and creative decisions of the filmmakers.
