A Weekend package of exciting film stories for youth at Giro Giro Film - Film Days for Children, Families and Youth: the second edition in November 2019 for the first time brought to the Youth Center Koper a wider package of films, dedicated specifically for high school students.
Evenings from Thursday to Saturday offered documentary and animated films nights. On Thursday, a documentary on the Afghan rapper in Iran Sonita (Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami, Germany/Switzerland/Iran, 2015) opened and shook up Young Spectators with her story. Friday was also shaking as Bruce Dickinson, the legendary singer of the band Iron Maiden, visited the Center through the film. The documentary, rich in archive footage, Scream For Me Sarajevo (Tarik Hodžić, BiH, 2017) revolved around the incredible feat, a concert during the siege of Sarajevo. The screening attracted viewers of all generations in addition to high school students. A treat with Slovenia’s best animations followed on Saturday. Giro Giro Film visited internationally most successful and awarded director and author of animated films Špela Čadež. Along with presenting her films Boles (2013), Nighthawk (2016) and Liebeskrank (2007), she answered in detail live questions about the demanding and sometimes painstaking work of an animated filmmaker, and so much more passionate.
