A Bao A Qu is a non-profit cultural organization founded in 2004 and devoted to the conception and development of projects that introduce creation in primary and secondary schools hand-in-hand with filmmakers, photographers and artists that work together with the teachers. Prominent among its projects is Cinema en curs (Cinema in course), an international film pedagogy program mainly aimed at two objectives: to develop critical, autonomous and sensitive viewers, and to explore the pedagogical potential of watching and making films in schools.

Teacher training is another proprietary line of action for Cinema en curs and for other projects of the entity which also stand out such as Photography in course, Creators in residence in secondary schools in Barcelona and regular collaborations with The Centre de Cultura Contemporànea de Barcelona (CCCB), The Filmoteca de Catalunya and The Centro Galego de Artes da Imaxe (CGAI).

A Bao a Qu has also developed diverse European projects (Comenius Regio ‘Discovering and building the local and European heritage through the audiovisual creation’, Grundtvig ‘CineTrain’) and participates in 2014-2015 in the European Framework for Film Education led by the British Film Institute.

A Bao A Qu leads Moving Cinema, started together with Meno Avilys and Os filhos de Lumière in 2014.
