Young Spectators at Art Cinema OdeonArt Cinema Odeon, Izola
The 6th of March gave Slovenian primary schools from Slovenian Istria a special film opportunity. They got to know art cinema and its history live.
At the Art Cinema Odeon in Izola, one of the few cinemas in Slovenia that several years ago with the introduction of DCP did not remove a functioning classic 35mm projector from its projector booth, we brought one of the most prominent Slovenian films of the last decade Dad (Oča, Vlado Škafar, Slovenia, 2010, 70 min) on original 35mm film tape. Its author, film director Vlado Škafar and the main protagonist Sandi Šalomon came to talk with the audience. As many as five schools with pupils between the ages of 12 and 14 filled almost all 95 cinema seats, including elementary schools in Gračišće, Koper, Izola, Lucija and Ankaran. The screening of the film, which with its poetic language calls for an active viewer, was followed by a lively conversation with both guests.
