16-18 year old students participate at the screening of the two Lithuanian short films 'Dešimt priežasčių' by Andrius Blaževičius ('Ten Reasons', Lithuania, 2011) and 'Man dvim keli' by Marija Kavtaradzė ('I'm Twenty Something', Lithuania, 2014) at the cinema theatre Romuva. The post-screening discussion is led by the film critic Auksė Kancerevičiūtė.

The two short films represent the new generation of Lithuanian filmmakers. Andrius Blaževičius and Marija Kavtaradzė are some of the most promising young Lithuanian filmmakers. At the moment they develop together a project of their first feature film. Dešimt priežasčių and Man dvim keli aim at capturing the life of contemporary youth. In his film Andrius Blaževičius reflects on the impact of media and pop culture on the young people, on their relations with each other and their parents. Marija Kavtaradzė reveals a portrait of three friends who have plenty of opportunities and possibilities (bars, drinks, parties, friends etc.) but are unable to make a decision and to choose.

The film critic Auksė Kancerevičiūtė participated at the screening and led the conversation with students afterwards. The youngsters from Kaunas Information Technology School focused on the topics relevant to the youth: leisure time, ways of communication, concept of “generation of possibilities”. The film critic also commented on the film form of Ten Reasons and I’m Twenty Something and payed attention to the recognizable film spaces, natural lighting, diegetic sounds and camera movements. It was interesting to notice that critical stance towards your own generation is a really demanding goal for the audience.
