The film Malvadez (1989) by Luís Alvarães was part of the program of the third edition of the project Filmes Proibidos, which is an homage to three decades of Portuguese cinema (1979/80/90), and gives visibility to the films produced and financed that were prohibited by the censorship before the 25^th of April, and overall, banned for the commercial circuit after the Revolution.

In any case, these were cinematographic works denied to the general audience during more than 30 years. After that, these are also films that have been just punctually programmed by Cinemateca or inside very specific contexts.
