Os Filhos de LumièreLisboa
Workshop with mobile devices in High Schools and Middle Schools at Junta de Freguesia da Misericórdia in Lisboa
During this workshop there were screened and discussed some fragments of the movies mentioned above. The intention was to analyze the images that tell the story by the way they were created and constructed. After watching some excerpts of Lumière Brothers films, youngsters made they own Lumière Scenes, with their own mobile devices.
After the screening of the short-film “The chorus” directed by Abbas Kiarostami, the group talked about shots, scale, distance, sound and how space is created in the movie in the same logic as the story is told. From this point, the creation of the story began and the script was written collectively, gathering all the different ideas. They were many students that wanted to act, so it was decided to do casting filming a scene with their own mobile devices. After that, and on their free time students searched and took photographs of the locations in a nearby neighborhood. The movie was shot in one day with two editing sessions.
