Filmmaking Workshop at the 15th Kino Otok International Film Festival

Filming places and landscapes

6 Jun 2019 - 9 Jun 2019

Otok Institute

Izola

11 young people between the ages of 12 and 15 participated at the four-day filmmaking workshop as part of the Moving Cinema project during the 15th Kino Otok - Isola Cinema International Film Festival in Izola.

The four-day workshop was done with Moving Cinema methodology and focused on making short films with exploration of empty spaces. 11 participants joined the workshop with two mentors, filmmakers Andreja Kranjec and Ana Trebše. Starting with a theoretical introduction, they watched excerpts from several films, namely Solaris and Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky, two films at the festival, Dom boraca by Ivan Ramljak and The Ancient Woods by Mindaugas Survila, and short films by both mentors. A practical phase followed, where they prepared a concept, visited different locations in Izola for shooting spaces, and edited them into two short films. In the end, they had evaluation and shared impressions of the workshop. Two produced films are available on the links below.
