It has been collaborating with Moving Cinema since 2015, being part of the network of cinemas linked to the Young Audiences proposals and offering reduced prices to participants of Moving Cinema and Cinema en curs. 

Since 2022, it has also hosted occasional Young Programmers sessions, and starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, it will host a monthly cycle with sessions such as ‘El cielo gira’ with a post-screening discussion with filmmaker Mercedes Álvarez, the pre-premiere of ‘Bird’ by Andrea Arnold, or the short film session ‘Correspondències. Inspiracions Chantal Akerman’ with a post-screening discussion with filmmakers Gerard Simó, Pau Vall, and Carla Simón.  

Cinemes Girona is the result of the renovation of the former cinemas located on Girona Street in Barcelona, at the foot of the Gràcia neighborhood, where films have been screened since the late 1990s. It hosts Catalan and international auteur cinema, along with many festivals and film showcases, as well as children’s and youth cinema. It is part of Europa Cinemas, CICAE, and Promio (a network of independent cinemas that brings together theaters dedicated to auteur and independent cinema with the aim of fostering collaboration and advocating for underrepresented national cinemas and cinematic diversity).
