Young programmers

At Moving Cinema, we are changing the paradigm: it is no longer about thinking up film programs for young people, but about the young people themselves designing and developing the programming.

Film programming is a process that goes beyond viewing and selecting films. It is mainly about reflecting on the working methods of filmmakers, building relationships, and imagining how to share with audiences the films that have fascinated us.

In this process, the Young Programmers develop a very intimate relationship with cinema and share their passion especially with other young people, which provides a privileged opportunity to promote their discovery that auteur cinema can also speak to them.

Based on shared methodologies and principles, each organization develops its own working models, linked to the type and context of the programming, which takes place in diverse spaces: film archives, cinemas, festivals, social and cultural centers, etc. In all cases, the youth groups are formed through open calls.
